Rev. Dr. Jennifer L. Hesebeck

 

Pastor Jennifer became the Lead Pastor at Faith Community Church on January 1, 2019, after serving as the Pastoral Care Minister in 2018. Her ministry includes the Excelsior United Methodist Church (rural Milford), where she has been serving since 2007. Pastor Jennifer also served the Zion United Methodist Church (rural Spencer) for 7 years.

Pastor Jennifer’s passion is to connect people to God in true and meaningful ways that apply to their everyday lives.  She enjoys preaching and teaching the Word of God and, especially, bringing Biblical application to relationships – with God, with Self, and with others.

Pastor Jennifer and her husband, Treven, live on a farm southeast of Lake Park and have two grown children, Rachel and Darin.

SUE ARCHIBALD

 

After a music-filled childhood and youth including singing in Church choirs and school choirs, playing in school bands and wind ensembles, Sue earned her Bachelor of Music Education with a major in voice, minor in piano in 1989.

Sue moved to Iowa from her home province of Nova Scotia, Canada, in 2000. After 28 years of teaching a variety of levels and disciplines of music in public schools in Iowa and Canada, Sue left the classroom to teach privately. She has been playing and singing at FCC since the fall of 2018, and became Music Ministries Director in May 2019.

JEFF DUVALL

 

Jeff Duvall has been the Church's Custodian since 2004. He prepares the Church for service, sets up for special events, handy work (repair, electrical and plumbing), lawn care and snow removal. He takes pride in his work, likes helping others and enjoys the peacefulness of the Church. Jeff earned a BS degree from Morningside College where he met Beth Umscheid. They married in our Church and they have three children Angel Brooke, Logan and Landon. Beth and the boys often help him around the Church. Watching his family grow at Faith Community Church has been very enjoyable for him. In his free time, Jeff enjoys coaching youth sports, smoking meat, walleye fishing and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles.

JOANN HEERDT

 

JoAnn's love of music has given her opportunities to play organs and pianos in Presbyterian, Methodist, Luthern, Congregational, Catholic, and Community churches. Her love of children led her to teaching first graders, piano students, and opening her own Montessori Schools. Her desire to expand God's Kingdom gave her opportunities for mission work in Colombia, South America, Guatemala, and Nigeria. Her love of family allows her to brag about her 3 children, 10 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.

SUZETTE VANDER VEEN

 

Suzette Vander Veen started her position as office administrator on June 18, 2021.  She enjoys working in the church office and the opportunity to meet and work with the members of FCC.

Suzette has five children and 11 grandchildren.  She spends her free time attending her grandchildren's activities and growing flowers and vegetables.  Reading, cooking and spending time with family are things that she enjoys.
